“Flexible, affordable, secure, Rural Energy Needs for the New European Mandate” was the theme of the FREE Initiative relaunch event organized on March 26th.

A wide and diversified group of attendees assisted to different interventions of a high-level panel with the following experts:

  • Yassine Abdelouadoud, Researcher at the French Institute of Mines
  • Eero Ailio, Advisor for Energy Transition and Local Governance at the DG Energy
  • Christophe Grudler, Member of the European Parliament in the ITRE Committee
  • Chris Goggin, Operations Director at Rinnai UK
  • Vincent Delporte, Head of Public Affairs at Holosolis
  • Ilka Hendrickx, Commercial Director at Primagaz Belgium

Many challenges exist for rural communities but fortunately solutions are offered by energy players and need to be supported by the European institutions.

This session laid the foundations for further discussions in the important area or the rural energy transition.
